Hello Summer Camp
Stargazer Day Camp prides itself on creating experiences for all of our campers that they will never forget, and treasure for years to come. It is our duty to provide a Safe and Healthy environment by fostering the talents and abilities of every single child. This is a place where they can escape and grow in harmony with other kids during their summer break. The friendships made and bonds formed only further strengthen their interactive relationship skills.
We fully understand how demanding it can be for you as parents; that's why we at Stargazer try to ensure that our child us secure, while having the most fun possible. It brings us great joy being one of the most diverse camps in Brooklyn and all of New York as a whole—having campers from all different walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures. Some of these include African American, Caucasian, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, West Indian, South American, and more. All of which builds a great dynamic, which allows for more tolerance and sensitivity when dealing with other races outside of their own.
These developmental years are what set the tone for the adults your children will become. So with great humility, I thank you in advance for considering Stargazer Day Camp as an option for your summer program needs. Thank you as well to our current parents who have provided such kind words via your heartfelt testimonials.
The First Day of Camp...
"Mommy...Daddy! WAKE UP!" is the first thing you hear as they drag you out of bed to show you their bright Stargazer T-Shirt and athletic shorts are all ready, Granted their socks may not match, they are only kids after all. We won't hold it against them, and I'm sure you won't either.
So you all arrive to camp; see all the new faces; speak to other parents; some children know some of the others from previous camp sessions, or simply from being in the same school and/or class. You then introduce yourself to a staff member, before finally meeting me — Gordon Harry, the Camp Director. I smile, greet you, and I'm as ecstatic as your little ones are to begin the day. THIS IS THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP! My face matches theirs in joyful enthusiasm because I know what I have in store for them. They have some idea as well, just not anything too specific, but some good guesstimations due to Mommy and Dady's due diligence of perusing the "Activities" section on the website beforehand, and gave them some clues. It is truly an exciting day, as they embark on a two-month journey of fun that includes, sports, water games, trips, friendships, competitions, exercising, arts & crafts, and so much more!
Beyond all of that, I am charged with a far greater duty than just being the "Prime Minister of Fun". it is my solemn responsibility to make sure that I have a well-trained staff who imparts Knowledge, Courtesy, and Respect to all Stargazer Campers.
- That they instruct them in a manner in which they can learn productively.
- That they leave your children with experiences that have them telling you awe-inspiring tales as you all sit down to eat at the dinner table.
- And that while all this is taking place under my ever-watchful supervision, the facility (school building) is secure, clean, and safe.
